Spring is officially here! However, as I look outside there is snow covering our green grass and the blooming yellow daffodils.
It was at this moment, I realized the same is true when it comes to faith. Just as the grass and flowers are hidden and unseen, sometimes what God is doing is also hidden and unseen. It is at this moment, the requirement from you will be – to have faith!
When we pray the Creed, we are making a statement of faith. We did not have the opportunity to witness Jesus in our time. However, Scripture and history present to us the facts that Jesus came to us in human flesh. The unseen God came as Jesus who was seen and visible to witnesses in His time.
There are times when I discerned God’s will in my life, and took a step of faith and was obedient. I had peace as I was stepping into His perfect plan. However, as time went by, I would wonder did I hear God right? I hadn’t seen anything as a result of stepping into God’s will. However, with eyes of faith I am reminded that God is already on the other side. He already knows how it will work out and look. I need to know that, how about you? This brings me comfort knowing the God of the universe sees and knows what I cannot see. All that is required on my behalf is to have the eyes of faith; to believe in the unseen.
What is it that God is calling you to? What is it that keeps you from stepping into His perfect Will? Is it the unseen or unknown? Or have you stepped into His will and nothing seems to be happening? Just because nothing seems different, does not mean something isn’t happening. God is stretching you to trust and have faith in Him.
In the next couple of days the temperatures will warm up and what was covered by snow will soon show the green lawn and blooming flowers. God does not tease us; He is working things out for our good. Soon your spring time will be exposed. In the meantime, keep your eyes wide open for the unseen will soon be seen by your eyes of faith.
Romans 8:28 “We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.”
